Four professional tasks merit discussion:

CCS will need a self-collecting amount for five million NT dollars each year. CCS is able to accumulate by means of proceeding with relevant research programs, receiving donations, seeking for grants from large research projects, and other sorts of income. The managerial fee of all kinds of revenue is supposed to be paid based on the school’s administrative decrees.
- Building up a bridge for inter-communication among business, bureaucratic, and academic fields for mainland China:
Linked by both visible and invisible factors such as economy, culture, race, geography, and history, Taiwan has closer relationship with mainland China than any other countries, especially after 1979. CCS, established for the integration of NCCU resources and scholar teams, is expected to be a cross-field academic institute that combines private and public sectors.
- Propelling academic interaction and cooperation:
Other than playing the role of cross-field bridge, CCS also hold all kinds of conferences and seminars aiming at diverse topics. On behalf of the long history inviting China experts and scholars by NCCU for seminars and academic talks, the interaction and development between two sides of the Taiwanese strait through academic activities is the prospect of CCS.
- Publishing research fruits and constructing digital data base:
In addition to the integration and propagation of research fruits, CCS is also expected to achieve providing informational services such as inter-library academic information exchange and establishment of integrated database and index.
