National Chengchi University (NCCU) has the largest research community in contemporary China in Taiwan, which consists of faculty from international relations, sociology, political sciences, development studies and economics. NCCU also has the most complete collection of books and data regarding the development of contemporary China. Based on these advantages, the Center for China Studies (CCS) was established on December 25th of 2002 for the purpose of integrating resources within campus and hoping to become the locomotive of China studies in Taiwan.
